All about 1792 Bourbon
1792 Ridgemont Reserve gets its name from the year that Kentucky became a state. Their advertising tag line calls it “The Toast of Kentucky” and it is, in fact named as the “Official Toasting Bourbon of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.”
1792 is aged for a full eight years in new oak and bottled at a strong 46.85% ABV — not full cask strength, but very close to it.
You will find a full, rich mouth-feel with a complex array of chocolate, sea-salt caramels, spice cake, and black cherry on the palate. there is spice, but it tends to be more ginger than cinnamon. The finish is smooth with a linger spice bite on the back of the throat.
