All about Bluecoat

Bluecoat Gin is the flagship Spirit made by Philadelphia Distilling, and named after the uniforms of the American military in the Revolution. Distilled in a traditional way in a copper pot still, it’s a very American take on a classic Gin style.

The recipe is kept a secret, but it’s made with juniper, coriander seed, angelica root and American citrus peels, all of which are organic, and macerated in neutral grain Spirit before distillation in a copper pot still takes place.

To taste, Bluecoat Gin is juniper forward, much like a classic Gin, but it’s also heavy on the citrus. It’s a slightly sweeter style than most classic Gins, but the barrel-finished version, aged in charred American oak casks for three months, adds another level of sweetness, adding hints of caramel and toffee.
