All about Granit Bavarian

Granit Bavarian Gin is made in Germany at the Hausbrennerei Penninger, a distillery which has been producing traditional Bavarian spirits for more than 100 years.

Granit is made with classic Gin botanicals (juniper, cardamom, coriander and lemon) which are added to plants which are native to the Bavarian Forest (melissa, bald-money, gentian root). After distillation, Granit Gin is matured for several months in clay vats, before being filtered through layers of granite stone.

This is a process that Penninger has been using since the 1960s in its Schnapps production. The result is a very clear and smooth Gin. Granit Gin is named after this traditional practice, and every bottle purchased comes with a small granite stone which can be kept in the freezer and used as an ice cube which won’t water down the Gin.
