All about Proper No. Twelve
Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey is here, and it's coming in strong! Mixed Martial Arts Champion and one of the world's most iconic athletes, Conor McGregor, is the founder, chairman and majority owner of the company. The whiskey is produced at the oldest whiskey distillery in Ireland. McGregor and his Master Distiller Elder, previously of Guinness, took painstaking measures to bring the whiskey to fruition. Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey is triple-distilled, blended, and aged in ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 40% ABV. McGregor and his team created close to 100 blends before selecting the final expression.
Numerous Irish whiskey makers sought McGregor's endorsement over the years, but as a true born and bred Irishman, he did not want to simply endorse an Irish whiskey. McGregor wanted to create his own whiskey that would match his high standards and make his country proud.
“It’s a place dear to my heart. It’s where I learned how to fight; it made me who I am today. It’s a place I’m still very much a part of every single day of my life. So, that’s where the name came from. It’s proper Irish whiskey and twelve is my hometown,” says McGregor.
The brand will be donating $5 of every case sold to first responders around the world – up to $1million annually as part of their ‘One For All’ initiative.
What can you expect from this profoundly anticipated whiskey? Hints of vanilla, honey, and toasted wood.
