A darn near perfect Extra Añejo Tequila from the heart of Jalisco.

The Orendain Family has been in the Tequila business for over one hundred years. Don Eduardo Orendain founded the El Llano Distillery and planted the original estate fields of blue agave. His grandsons — Eduardo and Jaime Orendain — still own and operate the facility in from the original building their grandfather built on site. For decades, all production flowed into other major brands. But they rebuilt the distillery in 1976 and began to produce fine Tequilas under their own Arette brand.

Arette produces eight varieties of Tequila, and all of them are super-high quality Spirits made from 100% estate-grown blue agave. Arette Gran Clase Extra Añejo Tequila is their top-of-the-line and it’s strictly limited to only twenty barrels per year! Those barrels are first-fill ex-Bourbon casks and they rest for a minimum of four years. This double-distilled Spirit is about as muy authentico as you can get and is smooth as silk.

Smartass Corner:
"Arette" was the name of a famous Mexican horse that carried sports hero Humberto Mariles to win three consecutive Olympic medals in horse jumping — one bronze and two gold — from 1948 through 1956.
