Hugo Asbach, a merchant and distiller, was only 24 years old when he started his business in the late 19th century. Soon he merged with different wine producers and laid the foundations for the Asbach brand that is known today.
 
And some more history: after the World War I, the Treaty of Versailles protected the word Cognac to be used only for products that are made in the region of Cognac, France, and it is then when Hugo coined the term Weinbrand for German Brandy.
 
The Asbach Spezialbrand 15YO is made out of carefully selected distillates and is stored for at least 15 years in Limousine oak barrels. The aroma and balance of the drop itself is driven to perfection, respecting the tradition of blending and the characteristics of each old distillate.
