An epic London Dry Gin base with the addition of delicious Slovene linden honey.
Why would you name your company "Broken Bones"? The distillery was founded in Slovenia by Boštjan Marušič, Borut Osojnik, and Polona Preskar. They hadn’t named their fledgling business yet and were filling barrels of Whisky for aging. Boštjan and Borut had both just come from the hospital because one had broken a leg and the other his nose. As they tell it, the bones healed but the name stuck. They produce a tidy range of five Gins and a couple of Whiskies using custom-made stills in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
Their London Dry Gin is made from sugar beet molasses triple-distilled into a neutral Spirit at 96% ABV, then infused with botanicals in a London Dry style, but with an emphasis on florals, including Juniper, rose-hips, linden flowers, lemon zest, cardamom, and licorice root. It serves as the base for their Old Tom Gin which sees the addition of Slovene linden honey and a touch of distilled lemon peel. Being unfiltered, the honey gives the clear Spirit a neat golden tinge, as well as a pleasant sweetness.
