The folks at Bruichladdich are really fond on experimentating and doing that in the biggest, baddest way possible. So they decided to create the most heavily peated Scotch Whisky in the World. They wanted to show everyone that the quality of Scotch isn't just a function of its age.
Thus, they created the Bruichladdich Octomore, named for James Brown's farm above Port Charlotte, where in days past a distillery produced very heavily peated Whisky. This is their first Peat-child ever and it might be a bit light on PPM's compared to the later editions of Peat bombardment in this range but it still is the first One! There will never be another one...
