Caroni 18 Year Old Heavy Trinidad Rum 1992

Ever heard of Caroni? Good chance you haven’t. Only a handful of Rum aficionados know about this under-the-radar distillery. Here’s why: this Trinidadian state distillery from the 1920s was shuttered in 2002. Plus, most of its heavy Rums were sold for different blends. Damn shame, that.

After the distillery closed, the remaining stock was gradually bottled cask by cask and released onto the market. That’s made it a cult hit that gets snapped up quicker than you can say “buzz.” This beautiful juice was distilled in 1992 and was aged for 18 years before being bottled in 2010 at mind whopping 55% ABV.
