Hanyu Distillery, established in 1946, closed down in 2000. Ichiro Akuto, descendant of the founder, managed to save around 400 casks of Single Malt.

This very bottle was matured and finished in French oak ex-wine casks, vatted and bottled at Ichiro’s distillery Chichibu.

It is an outstanding, balanced...

It is an outstanding, balanced, Blended Japanese Pure Malt Whisky from Honshu – Saitama, Japan; containing whisky from the closed Hanyu distillery; matured, then finished in French wine casks. vatted & bottled at the Chichibu distillery, It has a rich birth with notes of oak, grain spice, dark chocolate, orange, black licorice & creamy malt; while life adds notes of red berry sweetness, oily walnut & white pepper; that leads to a long & balanced death with notes of Sherried spices & a hint of chocolate, vanilla, honey & nut.
