Smoke Hattrick!

Andrew Webber and Darek Bell own and run the Corsair Artisan Distillery located in Bowling Green, Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee. Friends since childhood, Andrew and Darek began as beer brewers out of their garage, and later hit a snag while working on a prototype bio-diesel plant. They quickly realized producing Whiskey would be a lot more fun. Soon after they opened up Corsair, a distillery dedicated to producing exquisite small-batch spirits, and relentless experimenting.

Corsair Triple Smoked is one of their most successful and critically acclaimed Whiskeys. It has the complexity and rich smoke of a single malt Scotch, and the sweetness and barrel notes of an American Whiskey. Triple smoke uses three fractions of malted barley, smoked by cherry wood, peat and beechwood. Peat will be familiar to all Islay Scotch aficionados, and beechwood no stranger to fans of German Rauchbier. This is the kind of experimenting we absolutely love. And the world is in need for more of it.

This is a must if you are looking for something different, just the right amount of smoke. Made the best smokey old fashions with this. I highly recommend it!

terrific integration of peat in American whiskey

Good, but not great. Could use...

Good, but not great. Could use some more age on it. Tastes a little young. I think the same whiskey aged longer could be great. Still pleasant to sip on, though.
Update: upped my rating to 7, since I’ve had more time with it. Almost tastes like a smoked Irish. Has the same softness to the taste. Still think more age would help.
