A deliciously fruity and sumptuously savory limited-edition Scotch.
Ah, 1969. Woodstock. The Beatles. The internet was invented. That alone would have sufficed to label 1969 a rather good year. But it didn't end there – Cragganmore Distillery was founded by John Smith near the waters of the Craggan Burn. The site was meticulously chosen for its proximity to a water source and because it was so close to the newly built Strathspey Railway. Smith was an experienced distiller who had served as manager at The Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas, and Wishaw. Their Whiskies have been included in premium blends since day one, and their Single Malt releases are followed by a legion of fans. Cragganmore is owned by Diageo nowadays but the spirit of the past lives on in the distillery.
Since 1998, Cragganmore has participated in the Classic Malts Distillers Edition — highly limited-edition releases of select casks from Scotland’s finest distilleries. Cragganmore 2007 Distillers Edition 2019 is a 12-year-old Single Malt that was first aged in Bourbon barrels before getting a nice finish in Port casks. In other words, be prepared for jammy red berry flavors, honey, raspberries, and savoury whiffs of peat, oak, and tobacco. We don't know about you, but this is right up our alley.
