A bright, medium-bodied Barbados Rum finished in Bordeaux Wine casks.
The Liquor Company was founded in Berlin in 2012 by "Yvonne, Florian, and Lars." They are an independent importer and bottler of Spirits for the local German market, but now some of their brands are finding their way out into broader markets. So far they have specialized in French Gins, Vodka, and Caribbean Rums and developed their own herbal Liqueur.
Cuate Añejo Gran Reserva Rum is sourced from Barbados. Fresh-pressed cane juice is naturally fermented and double distilled before being aged in a variety of refill casks for thirteen years. Then it is finished in smaller Bordeaux Wine barriques before being bottled at 40.2% ABV. The process brings out a tidy palate of exotic fruit notes and smoky molasses. We want to call special attention to the finishing casks which add just a kiss of red berry and plum notes at the end.
