Papa Prosper's crafty heritage.

The story goes that Prosper Delord travelled around the Bas Armagnac region with only his pot still and his cart drawn by two cows, in the search of a method to produce the finest Armagnac there is.

His son later founded the company in 1925 and used the knowledge that his father gave him to perfect the tradition and quality of this magnificent liquid. Their vineyards expand over 20 hectares of land. In their ageing cellars one can find Armagnac dating back to 1904.

Armagnac is the oldest brandy distilled in France, however the vaster region of Cognac built itself more recognition across Europe (and France for that matter) and also the production of Cognac has always been bigger. That does not mean Armagnac is in any way inferior, au contraire mon frère; it is small distilleries with grand heritage like Delord that are a treat for the senses and should not be overseen!
