The famous Dewar’s White Label still delivers the classic Scotch profile that started a revolution.

John Dewar Sr. founded the company in 1846. But it was when his two sons — John Dewar Jr. and Thomas Dewar took over the business that it really took off. The lads expanded the brand into a global market leader by the end of the century with attention to detail, a fine product, and quite frankly some brilliant marketing. Along the way they pioneered the technique of "marrying" where a blended Scotch is re-casked to allow for a period of aging together. And there have been a few mergers and acquisitions along the way, but the company is now owned by Bacardi who largely leave them alone to work their magic across six major Scotch and Single Malt brands.

Dewar’s White Label is THE central, core of the Dewar’s line up. It was first formulated in 1899 by Dewar & Sone first master blender — A. J. Cameron. It is listed as the number one blended Scotch Whisky in the US and sits just behind Johnnie Walker in worldwide sales. Most importantly, the famous White Label blend is the foundation on which all the Scotches under the Dewar’s nameplate are built. Central to that Spirit is the Single Malt produced at their home Aberfeldy Distillery.

This is unbelievably amazing, ...

This is unbelievably amazing, especially for the price. This was my first real foray into scotch and it changed my life. The next one I tried was Johnny Walker Black Label, pricier than this one. It was disappointing after Dewar’s. Dewar’s tastes like sweet liquid gold full of angel tears.
