It was back in 1820 when the story of Don Q Rums started. Don Juan Sebastian Serrallés emigrated from Spain to the city of Ponce in Puerto Rico. He led a modest life and 40 years later, his son was able to found Hacienda Teresa – a big sugar plantation. In 1865, the Serrallés family found itself with plenty of excess fresh sugar cane. And you know what they say – when life gives you extra sugar cane, you make tasty premium Rum. Today, Felix J. Serrallés, Jr. is a 3rd-generation Master Distiller that continues the family tradition.
Don Q Double Aged Vermouth Cask Finish Rum is a blend of Rums that were transferred to Mancino Vecchio Vermouth casks for about a month after 5-8 years of aging in American white oak. The Vermouth casks are made from the finest Italian oak. Wonder what a Vermouth finish does to the Rum? Think hints of cherry, raisins, honey, dark chocolate, and vanilla flowing on the incredibly complex and rich palate. An interesting and unique take on Rum, this double-aged dram is bound to spice up any Rum collection.
