A Bottled in Bond version of Evan Williams signature Bourbon style at 50% ABV that makes for a great daily tipple.
Heaven Hill Distillers is unique. They are one of the oldest and largest Bourbon distillers in the world, they have the second largest standing inventory of aging Bourbon, and they have grown to become the seventh largest supplier of Spirits in the US. BUT… they are still family owned. In fact, they are the only family-owned production house left in Kentucky. You’ve got to respect the Shapira family! The Spirit brands owned and controlled by Heaven Hill includes Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, their namesake Heaven Hill, and many dozens more.
To those in-the-know, Evan Williams Bottled In Bond Bourbon is known as "Evan Williams White" due to its distinctive white label It falls in about the middle of the Even William line-up, but it is a perennial member of our personal "best value" list.
The mash bill is 78% corn, 10 rye, and 12% malted barley. There is no age statement, but since it is labeled as "Bottled in Bond" (BIB) we know that it is Even Williams Spirit from a single season where the youngest juice in the bottle was aged four years. BIB also means that it is 50% ABV. So what we have here is a nicely sweet, floral and fruity Bourbon with just a dash of spice that happens to be a great value. Sound good to us.

The original Evan Williams is a legend. In 1783 he opened one of the first commercial distilleries in Kentucky on 5th Street in downtown Louisville. Then, like now, location is everything. It was a combination of high-quality Whiskey and easy access to the city that spurred his success.

Appearance / Color
Warm Amber
Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is classic Bourbon with caramel, brown sugar, and vanilla cream over some nice floral and citrus notes with a dash of baking spice.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
As soon as you taste it the aroma shifts to marzipan and pralines while the palate opens up with a bit of dried cherries, cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted oak, and Cracker jacks.
Finish
The finish is medium-to-long and nicely sweet with a drying tannin and a note of flan.
