A rich, full Spirit that is one of the world's best values in a single barrel Bourbon.
Heaven Hill Distillers is unique. They are one of the oldest and largest Bourbon distillers in the world, they have the second largest standing inventory of aging Bourbon, and they have grown to become the seventh largest supplier of Spirits in the US. BUT… they are still family owned. In fact, they are the only family-owned production house left in Kentucky. You’ve got to respect the Shapira family! The Spirit brands owned and controlled by Heaven Hill includes Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, their namesake Heaven Hill, and many dozens more.
Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon Vintage is the only major vintage-dated single barrel release that we know of. And it has always been one of the best values in high-quality single barrel Bourbons. Each bottle is hand-dated on the back with the cask number and year that the Spirit entered the cask. This makes it fun to collect and compare the editions over time. As the name tells you, all the casks in Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon Vintage 2011 were laid down in 2011. They were aged between seven and eight years and bottled at 43.3% ABV.
Smartass Corner:
The original Evan Williams is a legend. In 1783 he opened one of the first commercial distilleries in Kentucky on 5th Street in downtown Louisville. Then, like now, location is everything. It was a combination of high-quality Whiskey and easy access to the city that spurred his success.
