One of the rarest and most coveted Amari Spirits from the heart of Italy.

Civitella del Tronto is a quaint town in central Italy. Niccola Pallini was born into poverty there and started work at the age of six, tending sheep. He taught himself to read and write and took to trading clothing, coal, and chestnuts. By 1875 he was a successful businessman with his trading business, a bank, and a general store. It was in the basement of that store that he started aging and mixing Wines and Spirits that would become the mainstay of the family business. The Pallini Family has become synonymous with rare, boutique, and high-quality Spirits.

To the uninitiated, the name "Ferro China Baliva" is a mystery. But each word means something important. The original formula was invented by Doctor Baliva in 1894. "Ferro" means "iron" in Italian and speaks to the infusion of dietary iron — a nutrient lacking in nineteenth century diets. And "China" is common Italian shorthand for the Cinchona plant whose bark contains quinine — like they use in tonic water. Taken together, Ferro China Baliva is a sophisticated bitter Aperitif with a very unique flavor profile in the Amaro category that has won eight Gold Medals.
