A Rum born in volcano to make your cocktails great.
It was 1875, when a man in Italy decided it would be a great idea to move to
Nicaragua. And for him, it was! The industrious head of
the Pellas family established a distillery and by 1890, the bottles of his
Flor de Caña Rum appeared on the shelves of Nicaragua. He didn’t wait long to expand to other markets and by 1990s, his family business had
the largest reserve of aged Rums in the world.
The distillery is situated on the sides of
San Cristóbal volcano and the Flor de Caña Rums carry
the volcano in their blood. The volcanic soil is rich in minerals and the climate makes sure the aging produces complex and amazing Spirits. Flor de Caña Rums are matured in white oak barrels that used to hold Bourbon. The result are the lovely amber color and opulent flavors.
Flor de Caña 5 Añejo Clásico is slightly lighter than the 7 and the nose is
classic Flor: easily recognizable and luxurious aromas of chocolate and toffee. Añejo Clásico was made as a mixer and it makes a wonderful Cuba Libre.
It's smooth and delicate and it gives even more expensive Rums a run for their money.
