The most premium Rum for your buck.
Way back in 1875, an industrious head of
the Pellas family moved from Italy to
Nicaragua to establish a distillery. In 1890, first bottles of
Flor de Caña Rum hit the Nicaraguan market and in the folowing decades, the rest of the continent. Situated on the sides of
San Cristóbal volcano, the distillery has been producing one of the best Rums and by 1990s, they had
the largest reserve of aged Rums in the World.
Flor de Caña Rums carry
volcano in their blood. The fertile volcanic soil brings rich minerals and due to the climate, Angels take a fair share of the Rum aging in white oak barrels that used to hold Bourbon. The result are the lovely amber color and rich flavors.
This particular Rum is aged for seven years in 180 litre white oak barrels that once held Jack Daniels, and is a wonderful mixing rum, born to find itself in cocktails. No tricks, no gimmicks,
just pure and awesome straight up Rum. Plus, this bad boy won
seven gold, eighteen silver and eight bronze medals since 2000.
It's basically the Michael Phelps of Rums.
