Back to tradition.
The Glendronach Distillery was founded in 1826 and stands as one of the first licensed distilleries in Scotland. It is located in a secluded spot in Aberdeenshire, dedicated to producing richly Sherried Scotch style with their 4 copper pot stills. In 2002 it was mothballed until 2008 when it was sold to BenRiach. Glendronach is Gaelic for valley of the blackberries.
The Glendronach 18 Year Old Tawny Port Finish undergoes a double maturation process. After an initial (and longer) period of maturation in European oak casks, the 18 Year Old is transferred to a very small batch of Tawyn Port casks, where it spends the remaining few years, maturing and adding flavor nuances that take this Scotch much closer to the traditional flavor of Glendronach, which is what the new owner, The BenRiach Distillery, wants to achieve. And we're all on board. Jump on!
