The Glendronach Distillery was founded in 1826 and stands as one of the first licensed distilleries in Scotland. It is located in a secluded spot in Aberdeenshire, dedicated to producing richly Sherried Scotch style with their 4 copper pot stills. In 2002 it was mothballed until 2008 when it was sold to BenRiach. Glendronach is Gaelic for valley of the blackberries.
Matured for 19 years in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks, this exclusive Glendronach has all the expressions expected of a Sherry matured Scotch. This is a Sherried Scotch well worth investing in, and at only 708 bottlings is not found commonly.

Wonderfully fruity and rich, with oranges, dates, figs and the odd hint of chocolate coming through.

Flavor / Taste / Palate

Dark chocolatey palate opens up to hints of amaretto, keeping the sweetness ever present as it ends with a finish of spices.

Finish

Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove are all present and linger after the dram is gone
