What happens when you blend VSOP Cognac with bitter orange Liqueur?
Jean Baptiste Lapostolle had a small corner distillery in Neauphle-le-Chateau, France where he made fruit Brandies and Liqueurs. His granddaughter Jean married Louis-Alexandre Marnier, and thus Maison Marnier-Lapostolle was born. The Grand Marnier brand was acquired by Campari Group in 2016 after nearly 200 years. The company has produced a range of Spirits, but the Grand Marnier name is synonymous with their famous, orange-flavored Cordon Rouge.
Now, Grand Marnier Cuvee Louis-Alexandre Liqueur was launched in 2019 as an homage to Louis-Alexander Marnier Lapostolle, the liqueur’s creator. This exceptional Cuvée is made from 82% prestigious VSOP Cognac and 18% orange Liqueur. It blends together the rich character of Cognac with the complex bitterness of the Liqueur and the result is intense with typical Cognac flavors, macerated citrus, pine, and even Earl Grey tea. This French beauty doesn’t need much to be enjoyed: savor it neat or on the rocks.
