Hardenberg Distillery from Lower Saxony, Germany, has been following the Scottish mentality of “Grain to Glass,” using regionally collected wheat and barley to produce some of the finest hand-crafted Single Malts in Germany. The distillery is leaning on a 300-year-old tradition - that is right, it was established in the 1700s! - while modernizing their distillation processes constantly, creating new innovations while reviving authentic flavors.
The Hardenberg Club series is meant to honor the distillery’s ancestors and the highest level of craftsmanship that’s been developed in the 300 years that the distillery’s been producing world-class Whiskies. The Hardenberg Club Straight Wheat Whiskey has been aged in American oak barrels before it was finished in German Napoleonic oak barrels. The Napoleonic oak has to reach the age of a minimum of 200 years before being processed into barrels, and the extra age of the wood gives this superb Whiskey extra layers of flavor - producing a deep, complex, and flavorful mouthful. Bottled at an ABV of 42.5%, this spectacular Spirit is best enjoyed neat.
