Made in Cuba since 1934, Havana Club — the Cuban version — is a partnership between Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government. Together they have been producing and distributing Havana Club Rum since 1993 as Corporación Cuba Ron based in Havana and have a stable of Rums, table Wines, Spirits, and carbonated beverages.

Havana Club 7 Year Old Dark Rum was designed to be sipped first and mixed second. Seven years is a LONG time in the Caribbean sun, and that effort should be enjoyed straight. From there, if you have your heart set on a cocktail, skip the blended Daiquiris and go for something like a Rumhattan or Rum Fashioned so the flavor of the aged Spirit can be appreciated.

The aroma is complex and sweet with notes of tobacco, butter toffee, espresso, and old oak.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
The palate is full and leans toward cigar humidor with notes of yellow plantains, English toffee, and even a dash of Vermouth.

Finish
The finish is long, complex, and creamy with more fruit coming out.
