Hellyers Road was established in 1999 by a group of dairy farmers who decided to swap milk for Single Malt. They named the distillery in the small port city of Burnie on the northeast coast of Tasmania after Henry Hellyer, one of the first Western explorers to survey and map the island. Hellyers Road was called the nation’s best Single Malt produced in 2010, and in 2013, the judges at the Whisky Live Fair in Paris voted their Pinot Noir Finish ‘Best New World Whisky.’
Hellyers Road Original ‘Roaring Forty’ is a lovely entry expression that was matured in ex-Bourbon casks. The name comes from the coastal winds that blow at 40 km/h and bring in the rainwater needed for Whisky production. Smooth, warm, and a bit exotic.
