The shiny Gold at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition speaks for itself.
It was back in the 19th century when John Philip Wiser emigrated from New York to Ontario, Canada. There, J. P. Wiser was a cattle breeder and he started working at his uncle’s distillery in Ontario first to provide high-quality grains for the animals. In 1857, he became the distillery's manager and bought his uncle out. Besides being one of the first to export cattle to Great Britain, Wiser managed to transform his distillery into one of the largest and most prestigious distilleries in the country that won “Distillery of the Year” four times since 2018.
J.P. Wiser’s 10 Year Old is a light and smooth Canadian Whisky that’s so approachable even your friend who doesn’t drink Whisky will want another glass. This is a high-rye Whisky that’s made traditionally with super soft double-column distilled corn and some one-column distilled rye that adds all the spiciness you need. It was aged in 3 types of casks: New American oak, ex-Bourbon casks, and used Canadian Whisky casks. What to expect? Just layers and layers of roasted rye spices, soft flavors, honeycomb toffee, vanilla, and oak from the oak wood. Oh, and it won Gold at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, which is kind of a big deal.
