If anyone knows how to conjure rare ghost Spirits, it's Johnnie Walker. Their Ghost and Rare series calls upon the irreplaceable ghost Whiskies and other rare expressions from a small number of iconic distilleries that closed many years ago and gives them a chance to speak to the living.
The Pittyvaich expression is the fourth in this series of special releases and contains rare old Whiskies from the Pittyvaich Distillery, which fell silent in 1993 after only 18 years in operation. To help showcase the rare Pittyviach expressions' very "autumnal" character, two other “ghost” Whiskies from the distilleries of Port Dundas and Carsebridge were hand-selected. To pay tribute to Speyside distilleries further, juice from the Mannochmore, Auchroisk, Cragganmore, Strathmill, and Royal Lochnagar distilleries were finally added to the blend.
The result is a hauntingly rich, sweet, and fruity pouring that features an abundance of orchard fruits and berries, complemented by flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, and delicate oak spice.
