Johnnie Walker Double Black is a relatively new addition (2011) to their lineup designed to focus that same attention to quality on a blended collection of single malts and grains in the style of West Coast and Islay Whiskies — which means savory peat and smoky notes from heavily-charred aging casks. This is NOT a “punch in the face with smoke and test your manhood” Whisky however. It is a sophisticated dram with gentle smoke and incredible balance.
