Kavalan Solist Port Cask draws its colour and body from Port, a Portuguese fortified wine. Port barriques are then used to age Whisky in subtropical climate and deliver big fruity buzz. The distiller, King Car Distillery from Taiwan, is a living proof that Taiwanese Whisky is becoming more than a force to reckon with.

Give it a year or two and maybe it is going to surpass the mythical status of Pappy Van Winkle. The bottles are already scarce as it is.

Ridiculously good. I like the tasting note of hot chocolate. I would say more like slightly burnt hot fudge, a very unique taste that I really enjoy.

This is stunning. So sweet, rich sherry, and port! This is my first port cask and I am a fan! Where do you find port in whisky? What even is this? It's like bourbon and scotch and rum had a baby and the baby takes after each parent for all the good parts(i realize with 3 the analogy falls apart)This is a gem! But not a hidden gem I suspect, kavalan is getting famous quick and it's well deserved, this is sure to be a fan favorite for everyone, you can share this with people who find most stuff "too harsh"
