Innovation continues with a classic Gin made from apple Spirits and aged in Calvados casks.
For three generations the Drouin Family has been producing some of the finest Calvados in the Pays d’Auge region of northern France. Guillaume Drouin worked making Wines and Rums before taking the helm at the family business — Calvados Christian Drouin. They have a wide selection of both aged and un-aged Calvados and specialty Spirits
Le Gin de Christian Drouin Calvados Cask Finish starts with a base Spirit distilled from thirty different kinds of apples. This Spirit is transformed into Gin through the infusion of eight aromatic botanicals — including rose, lemon, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, almond, cardamom, and juniper of course. Then this exceptional Gin is rested in ex-Calvados casks for six months in strictly limited quantities — brining out the apple notes which linger deliciously with the botanicals.
Smartass corner:
Calvados is an Eau de Vie made from apples in France. It gets its name from the Calvados region of Normandy that’s famous for producing this Spirit.
