The Nordic Folklore.
According to common belief Glögi was invented by Gustav Vasa, king of Finland and Sweden back in the 16th century. Since then it's been a part of Scandinavian culture and is today an almost indispensable part of any Christmas setting up in the north. Glögi is in fact a nordic interpretation of Gluhwein (spiced hot wine) made from different wines and different spices that originate from Scandinavia.
The distillery that produces it has a long history and was founded in 1783 by King Gustav III of Sweden. In 1852 Gustav Ranin bought it and started a family business that grew and progressed till this very day. They produce Vodka, Liqueurs and Wines with Arctic twist.
The Loimu Glögi is made from different wines and spices each year and the batch of 2014 is made from Merlot berries and Christmas spices. It can be served hot or as it is. A fairy tale that brings the feel of Arctic right in your home!
