The Swedish Delirium.

Mackmyra, the first Swedish distillery, was envisioned by a group of 8 friends on a skiing trip, each of whom had taken a bottle of Whisky with them for the host. The late night discussions came to Whisky; how it was produced and why there was no Swedish Whisky. A year later the 8 friends founded a distillery and within 6 months they had distilled the first drops of raw Whisky. 3 years and 170 recipes later they had their first Whisky, the Mackmyra Elegant.

The Mackmyra Preludium 06 is the sixth, and final edition of their limited Preludium series. Within this series, they've experimented with different casks and methods to produce very interesting Whiskies using local ingredients. The Preludium 06 was aged for 4 years in old Bourbon casks, and was spiced with Juniper.

Bright gold.

Smell / Nose / Aroma
Herbal notes, aromas of lemon, pear, banana, anise and a hint of orange blossom syrup.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Fresh, sweet, light and a tad smoky, with vanilla, caramel, nuts, and maltiness.

This was actually pleasant! It didnt have smoky notes as expected, and you could quite clearly smell the pear - which was awesome. Pleasantly surprised
