A beautiful mermaid that wants to settle down at your home bar.
Just off the south coast of England lies the unique Isle of Wight, the largest island in England. It's quite stunning over there, with all the beautiful nature and the sandy beaches, dotted with vintage beach huts, but also, for the more paleontologically inclined, there's dinosaur remains and fossils! And there's exactly one distillery – the Isle of Wight Distillery.
Founded by Xavier and Conrad, the distillery works as one with the island. Minimizing waste by eliminating plastic and using biodegradable materials instead, ethically sourcing local ingredients, and protecting the island’s marine environment, they really do everything they can to make sure their beloved Isle of Wight remains as untouched as possible.
Their Mermaid Gin is just as sexy as it sounds. Its lead botanical is ‘mermaid’s kiss’ a.k.a. rock samphire that gives it a breath of sea air – it’s an aromatic succulent that grows on the cliffs around the Island and marks the high tide line. You can imagine how happy you must be when kissed by this particular succulent when you’re a shipwrecked sailor, struggling to climb ashore. And there’s 9 other botanicals that help create the magic – elderflower from local fields, Boadicea hops from Ventnor Botanic Gardens, the classic juniper, liquorice root, orris root, grains of paradise, organic lemon zest, English coriander, and angelica root. Plus, let’s be honest, the blue bottle with mermaid scales is a darn sexy thing to have on your shelf.
