Spyros Metaxas began as a silk merchant but soon tried his luck in distilling with his two brothers back in 1882. They founded the company that embodies the spirit and soul of the Mediterranean love for wine. In the heart of the Aegean Sea where sun nourishes the vineyards and sea breeze keeps them cool comes to life this vibrant, and spirited drink that is the fifth member of our unique bunch of Brandies.
Metaxa Private Reserve Brandy is a blend of Savatiano, Sultanina and Black Corinth grapes, which are twice distilled to 60% vol. of alcohol and then reduced with aged Muscat wine from Samos. In the end the blending is finished by adding a mix of botanicals including anise and rose petals.
