The roots of the Meukow House go back to 1850. Tsar Alexander II of Russia loved him some good Cognac and he really didn’t want to run out of it at any moment, so he sent two brothers August-Cristophe and Gustav Meukow from Silesia to France to get that royal supply chain set up. Eventually, after the two brothers had been going back and forth between France and Russia for a while, which probably wasn’t so effortless back then, they decided to settle down in the town of Cognac and open up A.C. MEUKOW & Co. on August 1, 1862. The legendary Cognac House is still going strong today as it became part of the family-owned and independent Compagnie de Guyenne, founded by Michel Coste in 1979 and that’s when their range really took off. Today, you can get Meukow Cognac in more than 80 countries and the House is led by Michel’s children.
Meukow VSOP Limited Edition Copper Cognac is a famed Cognac that's been awarded many times in the most prestigious Spirits competitions around the world. This is a special limited-edition release that comes in a sexy copper bottle. The Cognac is incredibly round due to carefully selecting the Eaux-de-vie in this blend. Each Spirit that makes it into the blend is aged for one year longer than the requirement. Rich yet delicate, powerful yet mellow, this is a great choice for everybody who’s loved Cognac for a long time and it’s approachable enough for those who are just getting started.
