Based on the island of Mauritius, Pink Pigeon is a Rum brand called after a rare bird of the same name. The Medine Distillery is the oldest on the island, having been producing Rum since 1926. The molasses used by Pink Pigeon comes from sugar cane grown and harvested on site.

Pink Pigeon Rum is an infusion of three different botanicals, vanilla, orange peel and aromatic orchid petals. This gives the characteristically sweet liquid a floral and tangy appeal that works well with the syrupy delights of the thick molasses. The no ago statement gives it a smooth and easy going mouth feel.

The pink pigeon rum. Great cho...

The pink pigeon rum. Great choice for mixing with coke. Not so great for sipping. Probably because the bottle I own is vanilla spiced (Unsure if this is how it always comes, or I bought the spiced version by mistake) Nevertheless if you are after a rum & coke with a twist, then this is most definitely it. Almost reminds you of ‘Vanilla Coke’ which for those who haven’t heard of it, had a short stay in supermarkets until it was discontinued in 2005.
It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but if you liked Vanilla Coke back in the day then grab yourself a bottle of this (vanilla spiced version) mix with a little coke & enjoy.
