Gun-totin’ Rye Whiskey from Texas.
Situated on the edge of San Antonio, Ranger Creek is the only Texan “brewstillery”. Their stills work day and night to produce award-winning Texas Bourbon, Single Malt, Rye Whiskey, lager and IPA. It was established back in 2010 by a trio of booze-lovers: TJ, Dennis and Mark.
Their .44 Rye Whiskey is the third release in the Small Caliber Series (we’re sure you know that, but .44 is the famous Colt Walker revolver). The Brewstillery names all its expressions after historical firearms to keep it all Old West. Point-Forty-Four was matured for 19 months in ex-Bourbon barrels. Size of the barrel (get it?) affects the aging process – the smaller it is, the sooner the sauce is ready. Add some scorching Texan heat and you have a winner. The golden Spirit comes in a handy 375 mL flask, which is also a nod to the tiny barrel. Not everything is big in Texas.
