A Portuguese Gin with a fruit-forward palate and magical presentation.
Sharish Gin spans a wide range of cultural influences. It is located in Monsaraz — an ancient hilltop town on the Guadiana River in eastern Portugal that has been important as a fortified trade location for more than 2500 years. Ancient Hispanic tribes, Romans, Visigoths, Moorish Berbers, and more have captured and recaptured this location. Sharish Gin was founded here in 2013, and all of those ancient cultures have influenced their range of Gins.
How often is a Gin described as “beautiful?” Sharish Blue Magic Gin is — at its heart — the core Gin Spirit of Sharish. This means that the botanicals include local oranges and lemons, and regional apples along with the more traditional juniper, coriander, cinnamon, clove, and vanilla. Uniquely, the Spirit base is 50% molasses, 15% rice, and 35% wheat. But what sets Sharish Blue Magic Gin apart is that addition of florals — first among these is the Blue Pea, which gives it the remarkable, magic color.
Smartass corner:
The real “blue magic” is that this bright blue Gin transforms into pink when combined with tonic. this kind of color change is a result of the inter-action of anthocyanins in natural pigments with mild acids. But this visual magic trick is a real treat for your next cocktail party and makes for a stunning presentation.
