Juniper overloading...woohoo.
Sipsmith is a London-based distillery that operates with a beautiful 300 litre copper-pot still called Prudence. They were the first to launch under licence in London, some 200 years ago. Jared Brown, Sipsmith master distiller, crafts each product personally, in batches never larger than 500 bottles a time. The outcome is a truly stunning spirit – smooth, full of character and true intensity of flavour.

If there was ever a question as to the feelings of Sipsmith towards the juniper berry, it has been answered by this Gin. VJOP means “Very Juniper Over Proof” and is the Gin that was created to answer every Gin lover’s prayers for a juniperier juniper based Gin. To make this drink, juniper is added at three different stages in the distillation process.

This includes a maceration period, added juniper in the pot still and vapour-infused juniper in their specially made Carter Head. Is that enough juniper for you now? Well it had better be, because there aren’t a lot of Gins with such high concentrations of the berry and if you’re into your juniper, this is definitely the way forward.

I tried this gin for the first...

I tried this gin for the first time in a London Mule, it was great, so I thought I'd try it neat, not something I usually do with gins. It, on its own, was very good. I like this gin better than all others I've tried thus far but will continue my quest !
