This Irish distillate is one of the few in the under $30/bottle category that I would consider as my 'everyday drinkers.' While not refined, complex, or as smooth as some of the more expensive ones out there, in my book it still beats Jameson and Bushmills, which are in about the same price category. I started on Bushmills in my 20's and actually traded a bottle of Chivas Regal for a fifth of Bushy''s white label. Then a friend recommended Jameson's and, well, I still preferred the Bushmills. then I had Bushmill's 10 and the 'lesser stuff' didn't taste quite as good. This was followed by a Redbreast 12 (Yes, I know it's a Jameson's product). This Slane's falls right in between the two and gets added points for being something I can afford for a party. I'd recommend it and it's on my "buy" list for my bar.
