A bright and refreshing Gin from the West Coast… of India… made from local botanicals in the London dry style.
The Third Eye Distillery was founded in Goa, India — about 360 miles south of Mumbai — in 2017 by Sakshi Saigal, Vidur Gupta, and Rahul Mehra. The idea is to bring modern craft distilling to India. And they are off to a great start. The first product from this passionate team is Tranger & Sons Gin. And the team promised additional Gins and Rums are in the product pipeline.
Stranger & Sons Gin is made with a distinctly Indian mix of botanicals. The juniper and angelica root are imported, but the rest of the infusions are found and harvested locally, including pepper, lemon zest, coriander, cassia, nutmeg and mix of additional citrus. One of those is the more rare Gondhoraj lime from Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) which are kind of a cross between a lime and a mandarine orange. The resulting Spirit reflects the London Dry style with a bright citrus bent and it bottled at 42.8% ABV. The folks at Third Eye Distillery strongly recommend cocktails — Gimlets by day and Gibsons by night.
