Everything you love about Tanqueray, but fresher and zestier.
Tanqueray is famous for Gin. Their famous green-glass bottles have been a staple of the back-bar since Uncle Flaviar wore short pants to the pub on Sundays. They keep their recipes as trade secrets to this day (but we can tease out the occasional ingredient list). These guys define England for most of the world. Put a bottle of Tanqueray on a double-decker bus next to a big red phone booth… you’ve got England wrapped up in a cliche and ready to go. Even though Tanqueray is currently owned by the Empire of Diageo, the Sith Lords in corporate just love a great Martini and so leave them alone to create juniper-laden adult beverages all the live long day. They have a range of classic London Dry Gins and several special releases. Cheers!
The Rangpur Lime really isn’t a lime at all — it is a hybrid between a lemon and a mandarin orange. It is juicy, acidic, lightly sweet, and tart in flavor and looks like a tangerine. Tanqueray Rangpur Gin takes its name from this unique fruit and distills the Rangpur lime with other botanicals – including bay leaf, ginger, and a fair amount of juniper to deliver a zesty, fresh and lightly spicy Gin that is one of our favorites. Tanqueray launched it in 2006 and has been winning awards and winning over taste buds ever since — including Gold, Double Gold and Platinum awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Smartass Corner:
The Rangpur Lime is named after the Rangpur region in northern Bangladesh near the Teesta River. The area has a moderately wet summer and dry, temperate winters, making it ideal for raising citrus fruits.
