Did you know that cocktail Bitters were THE crucial ingredient that made the cocktail world go round back in the day? We mean in the pre-Prohibition days before the drinking habits drastically changed and only a few brands survived that period. Today, Bitters are an essential part of the cocktail scene again but it’s sometimes hard to get your hands on the good ones. Munich bartenders Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck wanted to create a brand that would offer the right Bitters, based on old recipes. And so, in 2006, the German company The Bitter Truth was born. Stephan already owned a large collection of current and historical Bitters and the pair’s precious bartending experiences didn’t hurt, either.

The Bitter Truth Chocolate Bitters fuse the Old World of Bitters with the New World of flavors. You’ve got delicious deep chocolate notes that are complemented by classic Bitter flavors and accented with a hint of spice. A dash to your Manhattan or Negroni or even a Tequila Old Fashioned will take it to new heights. They also make an excellent pairing with all kinds of sweet Vermouths and aged Spirits like Whiskey, Rum, and Brandy.
