Ask any Scotch-head and they'll tell you The Macallan is as exquisite as they come. The distillery by the river Spey has been in the Whisky-making since 1824 and knows a thing or two about making great Spirits.
The distillery stands on a ridge above the River Spey and it got its name from an ancient church that had been burnt down in the 15th century. Today, The Macallan is on its way to become No.1 producer of malt Whisky in the World. Another very improtant thing to highlight is that they harvest their own barley exclusively in late August and early September. They have two "secrets" up their sleeve: top secret specially cultured yeast for the fermentation, and the smallest stills within the Scotch industry. We're not sure about the magic that occurs in those stills, but they produce wonderful Whisky with a heavy and oily flavor.
The Macallan Double Cask Gold is part of the Doble Cask range which marries the unmistakable character of the American oak with the Macallan's classic style. It's an amazing Speyside Single Malt Scotch aged in American oak and finished in European oak Sherry casks. The golden potion is ridiculously smooth and rich, and despite being the lightest caliber of the Macallan range, it's packed and loaded with the unmistakable legendary flavors from Speyside.
