The Macallan Rare Cask 2021 Release

The 2021 release of the special Rare Cask edition lives up to its hype.

Ask any Whisky lover and they'll tell you The Macallan is a classy gentleman. The distillery by the river Spey has been making Whiskies since 1824 and they sure do know a thing or two about making great Scotch.

The distillery stands on a ridge above the River Spey and it got its name from an ancient church that had been burnt down in the 15th century. They have two "secrets" up their sleeve: top secret specially cultured yeast for fermentation, and the smallest stills within the Scotch industry.

In 2021, The Macallan released a new Rare Cask edition. These special releases are crafted from the finest and rarest sherry-seasoned oak casks, picked by The Macallan team and showcase the art and science of The Macallan Whisky Makers in all their glory.

Featuring a beautiful deep ruby mahogany color, this exquisite Single Malt starts with soft vanilla aromas and rich raisin. The palate brings more sweet raisins, vanilla, dark chocolate, and light citrus zest. The finish is as one would expect from such a special bottle – long, rich, and velvety.
