The heart and soul of The Quiet Man line is a brilliant foundation of Irish Single Malt with a lovely chocolate profile.
As a boy, Ciaran Mulgrew would sometimes go to work with his dad at the local pub where he was a barman. As he tells it, while tending bar he would hear stories told by patrons. But he kept those stories quiet as a confessional. He was the Quiet Man. Ciaran has since spent his career in the drinks business and named his Irish Whiskey after his father in this way. The Quiet Man Whiskies are made by his Niche Drinks company which is a subsidiary of Luxco, which as of 2021 is owned by MGP. But Niche Drinks is left alone in Ireland to keep on doing exactly what they have been doing from the start — making great Irish Whiskies and Cream Liqueurs.
There is, of course, a wide range of Irish Whiskies produced by The Quiet Man. But the heart and soul of them all is their core twelve year-old Irish Single malt. The Quiet Man 12 Year Old is 100% Irish Single Malt triple-distilled and aged for a dozen years in ex-Bourbon casks. They bottle this simple gem at a spot-on perfect 46% ABV without any unnecessary funny-business. It’s a Whiskey that looks you straight in the eye with pride.
Smartass corner:
"An Fear Ciuin" is the way to say "The Quiet Man" in both Scots and Irish Gaelic.
