This Single Malt is bottled at natural strength and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

A small hamlet in the Scottish Highlands not far from Inverness, Tomatin has nothing to do with tomatoes (We imagine it must be a tad cold there.), but it means "hill of the juniper bush" in Gaellic. Juniper might point you to Gin, but there’s none of that at the Tomatin Distillery, either, since they’ve been all about fine Single Malts at this idyllic spot with plenty of naturally soft water and tender Scottish barley since 1897. Back in the 1970s, they were even the largest Single Malt distillery in the whole of Scotland – the very epicenter of Highland Single Malt. In the 80s, the distillery was bought by the Japanese Takara Shuzo Ltd. and today, they pump out about 2.5 million liters every year to satisfy their demand – some of it is stabbed off, though, to produce Tomatin signature Highland Single Malt and their own fine blends: Antiquary and Talisman.

And which bottle does Tomatin consider to be their most vivacious expression? We’ll give you the answer – it’s their Cask Strength Edition. Matured in first fill ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry, this one doesn’t have an age statement. This Scotch is a showcase of their signature rich and sweet undertones. Bottled at natural strength of 115.4 proof, the nose is full of all things wonderful like golden syrup and ginger biscuits, while the palate has more malt loaf and marzipan notes. And so, when we saw the long list of accolades this Cask Strength has gathered, we weren’t surprised. If you insist, let us share it with you: Gold at the 2019 and 2018 San Francisco WSC, Silver at the 2017 San Francisco WSC, Silver Outstanding at the 2016 IWSC, and two times Silver at the 2015 C2C Cup Germany and IWSC. For you to taste, dear malt-head.
