Tres Hombres La Palma 2015 Organico Rum

A fresh, bright, sea-aged Rum delivered to port like it was 200 years ago.

Tres Hombres is a bunch of things, including chocolate, coffee, Rum, and a ship. Fairtransport — technically a shipping company based in the Netherlands — has been trading products across the Atlantic since 2009, but only by sailing ship!!! The idea is to develop natural, organic products and transport them emission free. Tres Hombres Rum is their line of tasty spirits supporting their cause and centuries-old seafaring lifestyle.

Other Tres Hombres Rums come from the Dominican Republic. But during the normal shipping route for Tres Hombres (the ship), they stop at the Island of La Palma — one of Spain’s Canary Islands. On the northeast side of the island, organic sugarcane grows near the Aldea Distillery, destined to become Tres Hombres Rum Organico La Palma. This current batch was harvested, distilled, and casked into American oak in 2015. Then it was placed on board the ship for five months of aging at sea, where the gentle sway of the ocean and warm tropical weather makes this Rum Joven (young) taste older than the calendar suggests.
